Acer launched its first Chromebook in its “eco-minded Vero line.” The company used recyclable materials in the production of the Acer Chromebook Vero 514. Acer’s Chromebook Vero 514 comes with an eco-friendly design
Acer announced the latest eco-friendly laptop, the Chromebook Vero 514. It is also the first Vero-branded Chromebook in the company’s lineup. The tech company launched its first Vero laptop with the Acer Aspire Vero in 2021, then it produced a few more models. However, the Vero 514 is the first one powered by Google’s Chrome OS.
The Chromebook Vero 514 has a chassis that’s 99% recyclable, and comes in packaging that’s 90% recycled paper, the company says. The laptop has a 14-inch screen, and it gets its power from a 12th-gen Intel processor with Xe graphics. However, there are more options for processors. You can choose five-core Pentium Gold 8505, the Core i3-1215U, the Core i5-1235U, and a Core i7-1255U. If you are looking for a low-power chip and an eco-minded computer, you can choose one of these options.
The Vero 514 will be available with up to an Intel Core i7-1255U, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD. The basic version is not much powerful compared to other versions. It will come with an Intel Core i3-1215U, 8GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD. However, this could be still a logical option for you if you are looking for a daily laptop.
The Acer Chromebook will also have a fingerprint reader for biometric authentication, a Full HD webcam for video calls, and a chassis that meets MIL-STD-810H military standards for durability. Acer confirmed the prices of the Vero 514. It will launch in the U.S with a starting price of $499.99, and the EMEA version will have a €599 price. It will be launched in October in the U.S according to the company, and in other regions beginning in November.
